 GROWING IRISES

Bearded Iris Culture

The American Iris Society is a good source for information on cultural requirements for growing iris, both bearded and beardless; and the various iris societies offer this information also. For general information on growing bearded iris, see this page from the AIS. Local Minnesota Irisarians are encouraged to submit additional information specific to Minnesota.

Beardless Iris Culture

Beardless iris cultural requirements are different from bearded requirements. Once again, good information is available from the AIS and the various beardless iris societies.

In addition, Wm. Dougherty wrote an excellent guide to growing Siberian iris in Minnesota which appeared on our original website. As Education Chair of ISM, Will will share his expertise on growing Siberian irises at the links below.
